David Agnew
Dave's answers to the following interview questions provides an important insight into his approach to clients and real estate.

What do you feel are your strengths in terms of what you can offer clients?

Effort, common sense, integrity, work ethic, I care about my clients needs. My communication skills, experience, patience, determination and people skills are things my clients appreciate. I am sure all of my clients will say, that they liked the way they were treated

What do you like about Real Estate?

Real Estate allows me the freedom to do the work necessary to accomplish my client’s goals and the rewards from that work effort, are very satisfying.

I have built a client-base of sincere and dedicated clients that I can serve many times over through the years.

Real Estate has allowed me to better educate myself, not only about the homes and properties of my clients, but about making sure my client has a clear and easy path in selling, purchasing or listing a property. To many clients, the process can appear to be long and possibly stressful, but to me it is interesting and I enjoy it very much. If I can relieve that stress in any way possible for my clients, then I will go out of my way to do so.

Real estate has also allowed me to meet some very interesting people within the trade as well as clients, from across Canada, the USA and around the world.

What core values and motivations shape your approach?

I try to answer all questions as precise and clear as possible, at all times. If I don’t have an answer, I go and get the answer.

I approach all listings, sales and transactions with complete honesty and treat each and all inquiries with sincerity and an open mind, knowing that the person at the other end is me in the reverse.  In other words, I treat them the way I want to be treated.

What skills and experiences have you acquired from past endeavours, that puts you in a good position by which to serve clients?

I have been involved in the sales and marketing field for over 40 years, including the consumer, retail, management and corporate levels. These various experiences have taught me a great deal about the importance of integrity. As an agent, no matter what you are selling or trading; no matter who you represent you are obligated to represent your clients in a professional manner at all times and as hard as that may be at times, you will be a better person for it….sale or no sale.

I have learned that there is an art to listening; how can we learn unless we know how to listen to what we are being told?

The following is a statement that I read when I was 13 years old and have tried my best to live by it all my life. It is simple in its form but profound in its meaning:

“I do the very best I can, the very best I know how and I mean to keep doing so until the very end; If the end brings me out right, what is said against me won’t amount to anything; If the end brings me out wrong; ten angels swearing I was right, would make no difference.”
